This theater has a seating capacity of 742 and includes a balcony area as well as a thrust stage that can be extended. For those visitors who have their children along with them there is the Children's
Museum. This museum offers many different activities for children such as flashlight fun in the woods, parachute play, marble prints, ping pong races in water, parachute drop, orange and black texture art, spin art, and a scavenger hunt in the woods. Another place that visitors and their families might want to visit is the Tacoma Museum of Glass. This museum is astonishingly beautiful and visitors can watch artists create their masterpieces from molten glass in the largest hot shop in the world. This hot shop is located within an ionic 90 foot stainless steel cone. Another museum that visitors and their families might find interesting is the Lemay Car Museum. This museum is the centerpiece of a nine acre campus. It is dedicated to the love affair that Americans have with their cars. The museum features as many as 350 motorcycles, trucks and cars from corporations and private owners. However, Tacoma is probably best known for the Tacoma Narrows Bridge which collapsed in 1940 as the result of high winds. Although the bridge was known as Galloping Gertie because it swayed to and fro before its collapse, this bridge was rebuilt in 1950 and is now a very popular visitor attraction.
